Six-Year Old Wisdom: Soy Milk
"Soy milk comes from soy cows." Right?
"Soy milk comes from soy cows." Right?
Well, I exaggerate...but my heart did stop for a millisecond or two...or three... when I opened the bedroom door. The 2 younger children had been scurrying about upstairs...making a mess of the room as usual. But I have to say, this one was quite brilliant.
In my little walks around town, I came across these hand-made plaques stuck on power poles. They are wooden boards with pieces of shiny plastic jewels and beads stuck on them and some sort of message too...like "Halifax and Titanic are memorable to us."
Sunday had such great weather that we took a little walk along the hiking trail at the back of our house.
Now that the weather is getting warmer, I take more walks around town. Spring is finally here. The trees are not lush yet but the grass is already green. (Inside the Public Gardens.)
A lot of "Titanic" hullabaloo in Halifax. If you want to learn more about this maritime disaster, you have to visit Halifax this year. I guess 100 comes around only once. http://titanic.gov.ns.ca/default.asp
Snack time! Honestly, it was a difficult decision. See, they were the crispy, crunchy, sweet & salty all-natural whole grain Kettlecorn popcorn...no trans fat... no cholesterol... no gluten... no preservatives... no GMO corn... ...and did I mention they were lightly caramelized? ...and it said "Satisfaction Guaranteed" right there on the package. How could plain old strawberries possibly compete, eh?
The Easter Bunny came in the form of our next-door neighbour. Just out of the blue...a knock on our door...a wonderful smile and a colourful Easter basket. Then, shrieks of delight from the kids! Thank you!
11yo son: "Daddy, I have the perfect birthday gift for you!"
Yours truly: "What?"
